Miley Cyrus and co. attended the world premiere of Disney+’s Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special at Los Angeles’ El Capitan Theatre tonight, ahead of the documentary’s debut on the streamer tomorrow.
She was joined by loved ones, like mom Tish Cyrus and partner Maxx Morando, and co-stars of the iconic Disney Channel original, including Jason Earles, Moisés Arias, Shanica Knowles, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle and Cody Linley. David Archuleta, who guested on a memorable Season 3 episode and track, was also in attendance.
Emily Osment, known for her role as Hannah/Miley’s best friend and confidante, posted on social media that she was absent from the premiere and special as she is filming for series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
“Hannah Montana changed my life, it gave me a lifelong respect for this medium of comedy, it taught me discipline, patience, timing and respect working in an adult space so young,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram video. “I can’t tell you what your sweet messages mean to me and how lucky I feel to have been apart [sic] of this once in a generation goliath of a television show. Thank you for letting me into your living rooms and I hope to still be there many years from now. Would never be where I am without you guys, working on another beautiful show I love so dearly. With all my heart, THANK YOU! ♥️ Lilly.”
Other attendees included newly minted Oscar winner Rei Ami, Willow and Jaden Smith, Lainey Wilson, JoJo Siwa, Ilona Maher, Dara Reneé and more.
Billed as “a love letter to fans,” the doc features an in-depth interview with Cyrus conducted by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper. Filmed in front of a live-studio audience, the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special will treat fans to a behind-the-scenes look at Cyrus’ archival collection, familiar faces, surprise guests and a musical performance by the pop superstar herself.
