Android always has an Easter egg with each new version buried in the Settings menu, but something different is happening this year, with each new beta release tweaking the Android 17 logo just a little bit, and maybe hinting at something bigger in the pipeline.
As it stands today in Android 17 Beta 3, the Easter egg found in the Settings menu hasn’t actually changed, still showing the one from Android 16. But Google has been sharing logos for Android 17 alongside each new beta release.
The new logo has some fun Material 3 Expressive vibes while also keeping up the outer space theme that’s been in place for the past few versions of Android.
But it keeps changing.

As Android developer Dylan Roussel first spotted, the Android 17 logo has been subtly changing with each beta release. Android 17 Beta 1’s logo showed the central “planet” in one way, with the second beta adding a little curve to the center. Beta 3 further builds on that with more of a spiral shape forming in the center.

What’s going on here?
It’s probably just a fun little game on Google’s part, but it suggests that we’ve not seen the final Android 17 logo/Easter egg. Dylan notes that the “final” version of the logo currently redirects to Beta 3’s logo, and that this redirection itself suggests there is at least one more version to come, which certainly seems plausible. But anything’s possible here. These logos are, so far, only showing up in Google’s developer blog posts around Android 17 rather than the actual OS. So, as mentioned, it’s probably just a fun little game or teaser on Google part.
It’s likely that, in some form, what we’re seeing is the Easter egg that will eventually show up in Android 17’s settings, and it’s a bit fun to know that, whatever it may be, it keeps evolving with each new release.
What do you think Google is building towards?
So you thought you’ve seen the Android 17 logo already before? Uh. But what if I told you… we haven’t seen it yet?
Google seems to be secretly teasing the *real* Android 17 logo. Since the announcement of Android 17, they’ve been slightly tweaking the inner circle with each… pic.twitter.com/21eU5kMvLi
