NJ man publishes alphabet book after overcoming brain injury

A South Jersey man is proving that nothing can erase passion, following a traumatic brain injury.

For Fred Davis, art is life.

His latest piece of work-a children’s alphabet book that he wrote and illustrated….

His talents on the pages eclipse the traumatic brain injury he suffered years earlier from a blood-clotting disorder.

His sister Leann McCafferty says he spent two weeks in a coma, and when he woke up, they feared he’d never draw again.

Fred, who graduated from the University of the Arts in 2008, remained determined to continue drawing the world around him.

His family says that while he now struggles with speech, he’s hoping this new book will help children and others like him with their ability to enunciate words.

A new chapter turning pain to purpose
