Pokémon is the latest ‘90s and 2000s trend to see resurgence this year, and Puma is getting in on the action.
Created in celebration of the global entertainment franchise’s 30th anniversary, the collection comes to life through a full collection of adult and kids’ designs, with a playful nod to beloved Pokémon such as Pikachu, Mimikyu, Espeon and Umbreon.
The star of the show is a special launch from Puma Hoops capturing the essence of the popular Pokémon character Pikachu. The shoe in an electrified take on the Puma All-Pro Nitro 2 sneaker, featuring a bold Pikachu-inspired yellow colorway, lightning-bolt details, and custom details throughout.
Other footwear highlights include reworks of the Mostro model for Espeon in a pale pink and grey colorway as well as an Inverse sneaker for Mimikyu in an off-white and black colorway. The Fade Nitro also makes an appearance with special daytime colorway for Pikachu in yellow with black hits and a nighttime version for Umbreon in black with hits of yellow. All versions feature custom hangtags, and subtle Pokémon character detailing.

As for the apparel, the collection features relaxed silhouettes like the T-shirt, hoodie, and shorts, which feature clean graphic treatments. Sport-driven details run throughout, including a matching PumaTech-X tracksuit set and oversized jerseys finished with uniform-inspired numbers that reference Espeon and Umbreon. Accessories like the cap and satchel round out the offering.
To highlight the drop, the duo created the “Into Another World” campaign aimed at mirroring the contrast between the Sun Pokémon Espeon and the Moonlight Pokémon Umbreon.

Offered in family sizing, the Puma x Pokémon collection will be available starting April 2 from Puma.com, Puma flagship stores and selected Puma retailers.
The launch comes at a time when Pokémon cards are rising sharply in popularity. A rare Pikachu Illustrator card, owned by influencer and wrestler Logan Paul, sold for more than $16 million in February, which set a record for the most expensive trading card ever sold at auction.
