The Kids of Immigrants ethos is all about bringing the community together and celebrating diversity, and what sporting event can better embody that than the FIFA World Cup. To go along with the gathering of nations playing the beautiful game this June, KOI will be working on a lifestyle version of the Nike Total 90 football silhouette.
KOI co-founder Daniel Buezo, took to his Instagram story to share a teaser of the upcoming footy colab. Early SKU info points to the T90 Mule model from the mid 2000s, which can be seen in the low-rise ‘Khaki’ suede heel on the pictured pair. ‘Light Mulberry’ lands on the sockliner and mesh tongue hidden underneath the suede fold-over tongue that is reminiscent of many football boot styles.
‘Classic Olive’ leather appears on the rest of the upper, accented with an embroidered Swoosh in a combination of ‘University Gold’ and ‘Fusion Red’ to match the logo on the tongue. The only visible KOI branding in this image is via the logo stamped on the insole which incorporates the Nike Football triangle. An accompanying travel card hints at the colab being titled the ‘Nike Together 90’ – a play on the T90 name.
