Renovation and expansion work to Embrace Medical Centre, formerly known as The Birches, is set to begin soon with patients expecting new modernised consultation rooms and improved accessibility when the work is complete.
The medical centre said that the building works mark an exciting new chapter in the practice’s commitment to providing high quality healthcare in and around Kesgrave.

Plans for the expansion were approved by East Suffolk Council last November with the planning statement saying: “Kesgrave’s population has grown significantly in recent years and with the growing demands on Primary Care settings to increase their offer of services to the local community, our client, Primary Health Properties (PHP) have identified the need to extend The Embrace”.
Dr Miah and Dr Hussain, senior GP partners at the practice, said: “We are thrilled to be moving forward with this project. These improvements reflect our commitment to providing excellent care for our patients now and in the future.”
The extended and renovated facilities are expected to enhance patient experience and streamline services, ensuring the practice continues to meet the evolving healthcare needs of Kesgrave and surrounding areas.
As well as the new clinical rooms, two new offices which will serve as virtual consultation rooms would be built at the Twelve Acre Approach site.
Changes to the landscaping of the medical centre and a reconfiguration of the existing parking of the area are also included in the plans.
The expansion of The Embrace will only consist of a single storey, with an area of 156 sq m will be extended off of the single storey wing of the centre.
