Google is actively working on Aluminium OS. It is an upcoming Android-based operating system designed for PCs with Gemini AP integration at its core. We know in bits and pieces what Aluminium OS is about to bring to the table, thanks to a bunch of leaks and reports. However, this new leak brings us the aesthetic angle of the OS. The alleged wallpapers of Google’s upcoming Aluminium OS have now leaked online.
Alleged Aluminium OS wallpapers have leaked
The official-looking wallpapers have been shared by Telegram leaker Mystic Leaks. While these leaked images don’t offer us much in terms of software features or the UI, they certainly give us a glimpse at the visual direction Google is going for with its Aluminium OS. It seems the tech giant is sticking with an abstract aesthetic and leaning heavily into neon colors. Hues like magenta, orange, teal, and deep blue stand out, too.
These are certainly bold choices for wallpapers, as they play far from safer bets like standard material landscapes or basic geometric patterns. Some wallpaper seems to be leaning into a surreal and atmospheric style. The leak divides Aluminium OS wallpapers into two sets: Adaptive wallpaper and Chromebook wallpapers. That said, these wallpapers aren’t coming from official sources, so it’s best if you can take them with a grain of salt.
Still on track for a 2026 release
What this leak also suggests (considering the wallpapers are indeed legit) is that the development of Aluminium OS is progressing. Hopefully at a rapid pace. While the exact timeline is not clear at the moment, Google‘s Aluminium OS is expected to be out sometime in 2026. So, at this stage, the emergence of polished wallpapers is certainly reassuring.
As for Chrome OS, Google reportedly doesn’t have plans to stop working on it. It seems that the company may pursue a dual-OS strategy. Meanwhile, you can check out the entire collection of Aluminium OS wallpapers from the gallery below.
