A person who entered the railway tracks in violation of regulations at the Holon Wolfson train station was struck by a passing train.

Emergency and rescue teams are at the scene.

As per police instructions, parts of the tracks at the station have been closed, causing changes and delays in train traffic in the Holon and Bat Yam area, as well as on the Ashkelon-Herzliya line.

According to a statement from Magen David Adom (MDA), “At 08:31, a report was received by MDA’s 101 hotline in the Ayalon region regarding a man who was hit by a train near the Holon train station. MDA paramedics reported a man, approximately 50 years old, showing no signs of life and pronounced him dead at the scene.”

Volunteer MDA doctor Dr. Shai Barnes said: “When we arrived, we were guided to the scene and saw the man unconscious, with no heartbeat and not breathing, with multi-system injuries. We performed medical examinations, but his injuries were critical, and we were forced to declare his death at the scene.”

The Fire and Rescue Service said: “At approximately 08:40, a call was received by Dan District command about a person trapped under a train carriage at Wolfson Station in Holon.”

“Rescue and emergency teams are currently working at the scene to free the trapped individual.

“Train service on Platform 2 heading south has been suspended. Additional details, if needed, will be provided later.”
