Firefighters and a regional hazardous materials unit responded Sunday morning to a reported dangerous substance incident at Ben Gurion Airport after a package began emitting smoke upon arrival.

Authorities evacuated all nearby workers as a precaution to prevent exposure.

Emergency teams have since completed initial monitoring to identify the substance and are working to remove it from the site. No injuries have been reported.
