The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is Apple’s premium smartwatch. If durability, battery life, and satellite communication are important to you — this is the watch you want. Priced at $799, it’s not what I’d call affordable, but right now it’s selling for just $20 shy of it’s all-time price low.
For a limited time, Amazon has the Apple Watch Ultra 3 on sale for $699. That’s one of the best Apple Watch deals I’ve seen and a rare $100 price cut on Apple’s Editor’s Choice Watch.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 isn’t for everyone. In our Apple Watch Ultra 3 review we recommended this watch to users who want satellite connectivity, the longest battery life and the biggest, brightest display. For example, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 can last for up to 42 hours, compared to the Apple Watch 11’s 24 hour battery life. Likewise, its display brightness is 3,000 nits compared to the Series 11’s 2,000 nits.
However, it’s standout feature is its ability to connect via satellite when off-the-grid and out of cellular range. This feature is intended for emergencies, allowing you to share your location and details with responders, and touch base with loved ones. But you can technically communicate with anyone you’ve texted in the last 30 days, so if you just want to let a friend know you’ve arrived somewhere, it couldn’t hurt to share your location.
Otherwise, its other features like running features, biking features, automatic workout tracking, heart rate monitoring, ECG readings, and SpO2 reports (yes, the Blood Oxygen app is working again) can generally be found on all watches compatible with watchOS 26.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3’s $799 price tag is a tough pill to swallow, but at $699 it’s just a little easier to recommend if you want the best of what Apple has to offer.
