Earlier today, Samsung kicked off a global rollout of the April 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26 series. Now, the same update is rolling out for the Galaxy S25 lineup. The rollout begins in South Korea, with a wider release expected in the coming days.

Galaxy S25 series gets Samsung’s April 2026 update

This month’s security patch is now available for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in South Korea. Users can identify the latest update by firmware version BZCH, which weighs in at roughly 535MB for the Ultra model (build version and update size may vary depending on the model and region). The update appears to contain nothing more than the April 2026 SMR (Security Maintenance Release).

Samsung has yet to publish this month’s security bulletin, but the latest SMR should address several dozen vulnerabilities. The company bundles Android OS fixes from Google with its own One UI patches. It will gradually roll out the April 2026 security patch to the Galaxy S25 lineup in additional markets, while simultaneously pushing the update to more devices.

While this update focuses purely on security, bigger changes are already on the horizon. Samsung recently confirmed that several features from the Galaxy S26 series will make their way to the Galaxy S25 lineup through One UI 8.5, including AI-powered Call Screening. We will let you know when the company begins the rollout.

It’s worth noting that this update is only available for Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users on One UI 8. Those who participated in Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta program do not receive separate security patches. Samsung will bundle the latest fixes with the next beta release. The same applies to other devices eligible for One UI 8.5 beta. The Galaxy S25 Edge and S25 FE are not eligible for beta updates.
