Ahead of the official trailer’s release, the first poster has been revealed for Jason Statham’s new action thriller, Mutiny.

Statham has starred in several action films over the years, and his next one is Mutiny, which arrives in theaters this summer. A trailer will be released on Thursday, April 9.

Until then, Lionsgate has shared the poster for Mutiny, which features Statham hanging off a vessel out at sea, with a gun in one hand and a determined expression on his face, as the choppy waters crash around him. Underneath the movie title, Lionsgate added the tagline, “There’s blood in the water.” Check out the Mutiny poster below:

In Mutiny, Statham stars as a Special Forces veteran and former NYPD officer named Cole Reed, who has transitioned into working as a private security officer.

After his rich friend is murdered, Cole gets framed for the tragedy. He sets out on a quest to figure out who really killed his friend and, along the way, discovers a shocking international conspiracy that is far larger than he ever thought possible. Statham’s co-stars in Mutiny are Annabella Wallis, Jason Wong, Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravicius, and Adrian Lester.

Jean-François Richet, director of Gerard Butler’s 2023 film Plane, helmed the new Statham thriller from a script by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis. Alongside Marc Butan, Statham serves as one of the producers through his company Punch Palace Productions.

Mutiny is the latest in a long string of action films that Statham has starred in over the years, including Turn It Up, Ghosts of Mars, the Transporter trilogy, The Italian Job, Crank, The Bank Job, The Meg, Meg 2: The Trench, The Beekeeper, The Expendables, Fast & Furious and Hobbs & Shaw. His role in Furious 7 earned him a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Movie: Villain.

Aside from Mutiny, Statham is also working on a sequel to The Beekeeper, the 2024 thriller in which he plays an assassin forced out of retirement to seek revenge for a scam against his landlady. That film grossed $162 million at the box office and is Verified Hot on Rotten Tomatoes with a 92% audience score (and a 71% critic score).

Like with The Beekeeper and Mutiny, Statham is one of the producers on The Beekeeper 2, which arrives in theaters in January 2027 and also stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, Jeremy Irons, Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland.

Five months before the Beekeeper sequel’s theatrical release, though, audiences can head to the movie theater to see Statham in Mutiny.

Mutiny will be released in theaters on Friday, August 21, 2026.
