Here are Wednesday’s updates from the U.S.-Iran cease-fire and Israel’s war with Hezbollah:
■ Israeli strikes in Lebanon killed 182 people on Wednesday, the country’s Health Ministry said. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said Israel will continue striking Hezbollah “nonstop.”
■ The Israeli military announced that Staff Sergeant Touvel Yosef Lifshiz, 20, was killed in fighting in southern Lebanon.
■ Iran threatened to withdraw from its cease-fire with the United States if Israel continues attacking Lebanon, according to Tasnim. U.S. President Donald Trump said “everyone knows” that a truce in Lebanon is not part of the deal. Iran stopped oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz as the strikes continued.
■ Israel’s Home Front Command announced that security restrictions will be lifted in most cities on Thursday at 6 A.M., except in some parts of northern Israel amid ongoing fighting with Hezbollah.
■ Iran threatened a “crushing response” to what it called repeated violations of the cease-fire agreed on Tuesday night. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the United States must choose between “cease-fire or continued war via Israel.”
■ Iran attacked Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline just hours after a cease-fire was agreed to pause the Iran war, an industry source told Reuters on Wednesday, hitting its only crude oil export route since hostilities began.
■ Opposition leader Yair Lapid said the two-week Iran war cease-fire is a “political disaster of unseen proportions,” saying Israel “had no say” in the talks and has become a U.S. “client state.”
