SUNNYVALE — El Camino Hospital widened its shopping spree in the South Bay with its recent purchase of a Sunnyvale site in a high-visibility location.

The health care organization paid $19.3 million for a property at 595 Lawrence Expressway, documents filed on April 8 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office show.

The parcel, at the corner of Lawrence Expressway and East Duane Avenue, is occupied by the University of East-West Medicine, Herguan University and Da Wei Tattoo, according to Google Maps.

El Camino Hospital has scooped up multiple properties in Santa Clara County within the last 12 months, a review of public real estate documents shows.

In June 2025, the hospital paid $10.4 million for a Cupertino office building on Stevens Creek Boulevard. Local agricultural company Yuki Farms was the seller.

In August 2025, it bought a 30,000-square-foot office building at 1533 California Circle in Milpitas for $13.2 million.

In October 2025, El Camino Hospital bought a Mountain View office building near its main medical center campus for $22 million. Real estate firm Swig Co. was the seller.

Prior to the more recent deals, El Camino Hospital paid $23.4 million in 2016 for 15.8 empty acres near the corner of Santa Teresa Boulevard and San Ygnacio Avenue in South San Jose. That site remains undeveloped.

In 2014, it bought medical office buildings in Los Gatos near its existing medical facilities campus.

Along with the property purchases, El Camino Hospital embarked on a wide-ranging revamp of its main hospital campus at 2495 Hospital Dr. in Mountain View in 2021, with an upgrade of the women’s health and maternity complex at the site.
