The Oakland native has teamed with her longtime stylist and collaborator, Law Roach, on her first co-created apparel and footwear collection for the Swiss sportswear brand On.

The collection goes on sale Thursday, April 16, on On’s website, in On stores and through select retailers worldwide, according to the company.

For Bay Area shoppers, that includes On’s store at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto. The company is also preparing to open a San Francisco location on Chestnut Street, at the former Paper Source site.

The release adds a fashion venture to an already crowded stretch for the actor, who is promoting the film “The Drama” and the return of HBO’s “Euphoria,” in a year packed with major releases.

On said the line was developed in close collaboration with Zendaya and Roach, whose partnership has helped shape many of her most recognizable red carpet looks. The collection includes ribbed tank tops and T-shirts, half-zip anoraks, coach jackets, drawstring midi skirts, parachute pants and Bermuda shorts, along with a new sneaker called the Cloudnova Moon.

“It’s been so much fun to collaborate with Law and the On team on these essentials,” Zendaya said in a statement. “We wanted to create pieces that feel versatile and easy to wear — styles that move with you across different moments. We started with the idea of making people feel confident and effortless, and we built everything out from there.”

Roach told Vogue that the pair drew inspiration from travel, runway fashion, vintage stores and their own closets, then worked with On’s design team in Zurich to refine the collection.

The result lands somewhere between activewear and everyday uniform.

The campaign centers on “Shape of Dreams,” a short film directed by Spike Jonze, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind “Her.” In the video, Zendaya appears inside a surreal design studio where garments stretch, shift and snap into place.

The launch comes at a moment when Zendaya’s schedule is unusually full, even by Hollywood standards. She recently said she expects to step back from public view after a year that includes upcoming roles in “The Odyssey,” “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “Dune: Part Three.”
