High-strength Ozempic will be available free to thousands of patients with diabetes who have a medical card or are on the Long-Term Illness Scheme, marking a major breakthrough in access to expensive new jabs.
The HSE is understood to have told Novo Nordisk, makers of Ozempic, that the 2mg dosage can be prescribed for suitable patients with diabetes on both scheme from next month.
