A jadeite, ruby and diamond necklace led Poly Auction’s recent Hong Kong jewelry sale, fetching HKD 14.4 million ($1.8 million).
The necklace consists of 38 jadeite beads, with a clasp featuring an oval-cut, 1.51-carat ruby and multi-shaped diamonds. The piece came in under its presale estimate of HKD 20 million to HKD 30 million ($2.6 million to $3.8 million) at the auction house’s April 6 High Jewelry & Watches sale.
The 121 lots that sold included a large assortment of diamond jewels, as well as jadeite, colored gemstones, and natural pearls. Pieces from top jewelry houses such as Chopard, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier went under the hammer, as did watches by Omega, Patek Philippe and Rolex.
