Financial advisers large and small have had a busy 12 months – but it has been a hugely successful year, according to FT Adviser’s Top 100 Financial Advisers rankings.
FT Adviser (and its progenitor, the former print title Financial Adviser) launched the Top 100 over 30 years ago to help provide a snapshot to the nation of great financial advice companies in the UK.
This year, FT Adviser celebrated with those companies making it onto the Top 100 list at our flagship conference, the Financial Advice Forum, held at the Hilton London Tower Bridge on the banks of the Thames.
As usual, client retention, growing assets under management in a difficult market, achieving personal and corporate chartered status – these were all factors taken into consideration when assessing the FT Adviser Top 100 Advisers.
You can see the winners by clicking the image above.
But this year, FT Adviser also launched the Top 50 Boutiques rankings, to recognise those companies with 10 or fewer registered advisers who have grown their businesses and their client base over the past 12 months.
And there has been significant growth for large and small firms – for the first time in more than a decade, hundreds of advice firms have brought in record gross sales of £200mn or more.
Even some firms with just two registered individuals brought in more than £100mn – no mean feat when one considers the work involved.
Perhaps chancellor Rachel Reeves’ 2024 Budget changes had a silver lining for advisers after all – and you can read what some of our winners said about this by clicking on the image above.
Guests and winners alike celebrated the achievements of colleagues and peers over the past 12 months.
Methodology
Attendees also heard from Clair Leister, head of adviser research at ISS Market Intelligence, which compiles the data for FTAdviser every year.
She explained the methodology (which can be found in full, in the image link above) and talked about some of the factors that go into creating the Top 100 and Top 50 Boutique lists.
She also outlined why we tweak the methodology each year to keep it fresh and ensure that we capture a broad sweep of financial advice firms, large and small, across the UK.

Once again, congratulations to all who made it onto the FT Adviser Top 100 and Top 50 Boutiques 2025.
