Everything to everyone?

In the April edition of Tyres & Accessories magazine, we continue to track the ongoing development of the 4×4 tyre sector. With the vehicle sector pushing towards solutions that blend on-road comfort, handling, and refinement with genuine off-road traction and durability, that vehicle philosophy prevents obvious challenges for tyre manufacturers. The rise of all-season and all-weather designs has also accelerated in recent years, offering year-round capability and balanced mileage across diverse conditions. And that brings a second tranche of tyre development challenges with it too – before we’ve considered the impact of electrification on the 4×4 tyres segment. So how are those supplying 4×4 tyres responding to the combined challenges presented by increasingly all-purpose vehicles, combined with all-season tyres and electric propulsion? The April issues looks at the latest products and trends to find out.

The Tire Cologne 2026 Preview – Part 1

The Tire Cologne returns in 2026, taking place at the Koelnmesse exhibition centre between 9-11 June. This year’s trade fair promises a greater focus upon the circular economy. An expanded programme, including the new ‘Material & Production’ segment and emphasis on sustainable materials, smart production processes and circular value creation systems, will complement the traditional format that has made it the leading international trade fair for the tyre industry. In April, we’ll begin our two-month coverage of what TTC 2026 exhibitors plan for the show.
