WAUKESHA COUNTY — It is like déjà vu all over again due to flooding and stormy weather. In August Waukesha County experienced historic flooding. Wednesday’s rainfall is currently causing headaches for motorists.
Temporary road closures due to flooding:
Barker Rd from River Road to Capitol DrBarker Rd from North Ave to Gebhardt RdHackberry Lane at Moorland RdPilgrim Road from Gebhardt to Watertown PlankMitchell Park Dr from Capitol Dr to River RdRiver Rd from Brookfield Rd to Barker RdMitchell Park and the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts are also closed due to this flooding.Fox Brook Park remains open. Barker Road is open from North Avenue, accessible via Springdale Road, to the park entrance.
Waukesha County Department of Public Works announced road closures which are in effect for:
CTH Y (Lannon Road) between CTH VV and Mill RoadCTHY Y (N Barker Road) between STH 190 (Capitol Drive) and River RoadCTHY Y (N Barker Road) between CTH M (North Avenue) to Glenoaks DriveCTH DR (Delafield Road) between N Peninsula Drive to N Venice Beach Road
WisDOT reminds motorists to check 511wi.gov to view the latest highway closures.
“If you encounter a flooded road: TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN. Never drive into standing water. Never ignore barriers. Turn around and find a different route.”
