An Israeli soldier, who sustained injuries in a bomb explosion in southern Lebanon on Friday, succumbed to his wounds, the Israeli army said on Saturday.
The military said Warrant Officer (res.) Barak Kalfon, 48, “died of wounds sustained during combat in southern Lebanon” after a reserve paratroopers unit “triggered an explosive device during an operation.”
Kalfon served as “a fighter in the 7056th Battalion of the 226th Brigade,” the army said.
The army added that three other soldiers were wounded in the incident.
