Tom Holland shared an update on his health following his on-set injury while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, posting on social media on Saturday, Sept. 27, that he is “feeling better and on the mend.” Holland suffered a mild concussion while filming the superhero movie and was briefly hospitalized, with production shutting down so the star could recover.
Less than a week later, Holland posted on Instagram highlights from an event of The Brother’s Trust, a non-profit group run by Holland’s parents. In addition to a video that sees Holland with fiancée and Spider-Man co-star Zendaya, as well as featuring a clip of fellow co-star Jacob Batalon, enjoying the night, Holland shared his brief health update.
Holland’s injury resulted from a stunt gone wrong on the Glasgow, Scotland, set, per reports, though no one else was injured. It is not immediately clear when Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to resume filming, but the movie is still scheduled to be released on July 31, 2026.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, in addition to Holland, Zendaya, and Batalon, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast also includes Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, and recent addition Marvin Jones III.
What This Means For Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Peter Parker looking concerned in Spider-Man No Way Home
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is one of the most anticipated movies coming out in 2026, marking the return of Holland’s Spider-Man for the first time since 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s also the first of two Marvel movies in 2026, with the other being Avengers: Doomsday, though Holland is not currently expected to appear in the latest team-up movie.
There have been plenty of set videos and photos revealing details about the movie that fans have been analyzing, including Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man suit and Zendaya’s new look. Holland has also shared comments that some see as proving certain fan theories.
With his recent post, Holland appears that he is nearing full health, meaning filming could pick back up in the near future on the Marvel movie.
Our Take On Tom Holland’s Health Update
It’s great to hear that Holland is doing well with his recovery. His health is the most important thing, but this is encouraging news.
There’s been no indication that Holland’s injury could result in Spider-Man: Brand New Day being shifted from its release date, but depending on how things go with his return to set, that could still be on the table. In the meantime, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still poised to be one of the biggest blockbustrs of 2026.
