As we enter the third month of the war in the Gulf, the waiting period stretches on. In fact, Sunday marks four weeks since the U.S. decision to implement a cease-fire in the war against Iran. U.S. President Donald Trump keeps sounding confident that his choice to exert considerable economic pressure on Iran – by blocking the Persian Gulf south of the Strait of Hormuz – will eventually result in an Iranian capitulation that will lead to its acceptance of the American conditions.
