Israelis can expect a mix of warm and cool weather changes this week as the country heads into Yom Kippur.
The Israel Meteorological Service said Sunday will be partly cloudy to mostly clear, with a slight rise in temperatures in the mountains and inland areas. Conditions there will be hotter than usual for this time of year. Along the Mediterranean coast, northern winds are expected to strengthen in the afternoon. Overnight skies will be clear to partly cloudy.
On Monday, skies will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear, but a slight drop in temperatures is expected, mainly in the mountains and inland. Tuesday will bring another modest drop in temperatures, returning them to seasonal norms. Meteorologists said there is also a chance of light drizzle or local showers, mostly in northern Israel and along the coastal plain.
By Wednesday, the eve of Yom Kippur, another cooling trend is forecast. Drizzle or light local showers are again possible in northern and central regions.
