A new teaser for season 5, episode 7 of The Boys has been released, showing Homelander (played by Antony Starr) in a whole new position in the Oval Office, perhaps taking over as the President, with some Gen V stars returning to the fold despite the latest series’ cancellation update from Prime Video.
The trailer shows a defeated Hughie (played by Jack Quaid) after the events of episode 6 saw Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) hand over the highly sought-after V1 to Homelander. A glimpse of Gen V characters Marie Moreau (played by Jaz Sinclair) and Jordan Li (played by London Thor and Derek Luh) are finally shown after showrunner Eric Kripke teased ScreenRant, “The Gen V kids certainly show up before the season’s over.”
Many fans have begun speculating on the significance of Marie’s character, specifically due to her unusual but extremely dangerous powers of high-level hemokinesis, better known as blood manipulation, as well as advanced biokinetic healing abilities. Her ability could potentially remove the V1 component from Homelander’s bloodstream, making him mortal and vulnerable for anyone to end his reign of terror once and for all.
The penultimate episode comes just in time, as fans have been eagerly awaiting the fallout from Homelander injecting the powerful V1 after months of planning to avoid him doing just that. It’s unclear how Homelander will be stopped as Prime Video’s adaptation of the original comic series is very far removed from its source, making the final few episodes a major surprise to longtime fans.
With Homelander landing in the Oval Office, Butcher ensuring his plans to end the evil supe are still ongoing, and Gen V entering the fold, it’s only a matter of time before the final battle commences, and it looks like it’s certainly not one to miss.
