Direct cash-in transactions to GCash will be routed to InstaPay starting next month, in line with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) directive for faster and safer transparent fund transfers.

In an advisory, GCash said all cash in transactions to accounts of users will be made through InstaPay starting October 1, 2025.

“GCash confirms that it will not charge direct cash in fees under the new InstaPay model. However, partner banks may adjust their own service fees depending on their policies related to this shift. Please check with your banks for its transition schedules and updated service fees,” the advisory read.

“We remain committed to keeping our services safe, seamless, and affordable, while working with partner banks and regulators to serve you better,” it added.

Launched in 2018, InstaPay allows individuals, businesses, and government institutions to send and receive funds or make payments in real time of up to P50,000 per transaction.

Last month GCash, operated by G-Xchange Inc., suspended gaming access through its GLife feature, also in line with the directive of the BSP amid the surge in online gambling transactions, and heightened public concern on its financial health impact to consumers. — BM, GMA Integrated News
