Dean and Sam Winchester officially return for a new Supernatural adventure this summer, and it already promises to set itself apart from the original show by introducing a monster unlike any the brothers have ever faced before.
While Supernatural ended in 2020 with Season 15, Episode 20, “Carry On,” Sam and Dean Winchester returned in 2025 with a brand-new series: Dynamite’s Supernatural. Spearheaded by writer Greg Pak and artist Eder Messias, the comic series brings the brothers back to the beloved “monster of the week” format that helped define the early seasons of the show.
The comic series currently has six issues available to read, with Supernatural #7 set to release on May 20, 2026. Thanks to future solicitations, a total of nine issues have been confirmed so far. However, because the title remains ongoing, there will likely be more issues to come. Reception for the series has been mostly positive from fans, with the title averaging 3.9 stars out of five on League of Comic Geeks.

The preview features cover art for the issue, including photo variants of Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. However, the most notable element of the solicitation is the issue’s synopsis.
The synopsis teases: “The Winchester brothers have tried to follow in their father’s footsteps, fighting evil of all kinds. They’ve never met a monster they couldn’t handle…until now.” The monster tease is especially intriguing, as it suggests the brothers may finally encounter a creature capable of outmatching them on a hunt.
