EU Council President António Costa said he is “appalled by the treatment of flotilla members by Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir,” adding that, “This behavior is completely unacceptable.”
The EU Council is the European Union’s executive body, composed of the heads of state of the 27 EU member countries. Council representatives “call for their immediate release,” Costa wrote on X, referring to activists from the Gaza-bound flotilla currently held in Israel.
On Wednesday, far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir released a video showing flotilla activists bound, forced to kneel, and dragged across the floor, boasting that “this is how we welcomed the terror supporters.”
