#1 New York Times bestselling author Carissa Broadbent will celebrate the release of her latest book, “Daughter of No Worlds,” at the Jane Pickens Theater on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m.

The Providence-based author, who has sold more than 4 million books, will appear in conversation with author Jenny L. Howe at the JPT Film & Event Center, 49 Touro St. The event, hosted by Charter Books, requires tickets and runs until 8 p.m.

“Daughter of No Worlds” publishes Oct. 14 through Bramble. The book marks the first in Broadbent’s War of Lost Hearts series, which she originally self-published before signing with a traditional publisher.

Arthur Wang, the book cover designer for the new editions of the War of Lost Hearts series, will present his work at the event.

Each ticket, priced at $48, includes admission and one signed copy of “Daughter of No Worlds.” All copies will be pre-signed before the event, with Broadbent personalizing books afterward. Attendees may bring up to two of the author’s previous titles for signing. Additional books will be available for purchase.

The dark romantasy novel follows Tisaanah, a former slave fighting for justice, and Maxantarius Farlione, a reclusive warrior, as they navigate powerful magic, passion and vengeance. The book was originally the work that allowed Broadbent to become a full-time writer.

Broadbent is best known for her Crowns of Nyaxia romantasy series, which gained popularity on TikTok. Her work has been featured in Elle and Publishers Weekly, with reviews appearing in Library Journal, Marie Claire, Popsugar and Vulture.

The author began her career as an independent author, selling books on Etsy before transitioning to traditional publishing. She lives in Rhode Island with her husband, son and cat.

Howe is the author of “The Make-up Test,” “On the Plus Side” and “How to Get a Life in Ten Dates.” She teaches college writing, literature and children’s media.
