US President Donald Trump shared in a joint statement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that “in our meeting today, Prime Minister Netanyahu was very clear about his opposition to a Palestinian state, and he constantly mentions October 7. I understand most people do that, I understand and respect his position on many issues, but what he is doing today is so good for Israel.” He added: “Now people want to return to peace. They want to return to normalization. In the true sense, some stupid countries recognized the Palestinian state, but I really think they’re doing it because they’re very tired.”
