Gavin Flanagan has been appointed Group Sales Manager of the Super Radio Network Group (SRN).

Flanagan has been in radio for almost 27 years, having started as a young announcer in Karratha, moving to Alice Springs and then Tamworth, where he became General Manager under the late Bill Caralis in 2006.

After a 3-year stint running Business Events (and the Tamworth Country Music Festival) at Tamworth Regional Council, Flanagan returned to the media sector at Nine and Southern Cross Austereo, before returning as GM with SRN in Tamworth.

He then took over the Nowra stations under Grant Broadcasters.

Upon ARN’s acquisition of Grant Broadcasters, Flanagan was appointed General Manager of Wave FM in Wollongong as well as Area Lead for ARN’s NSW stations. He has been in that role for the past three years.

Chair of SRN, Joan Warner, said “Super Radio Network is pleased to be able to access Gavin’s wealth of experience across media and, importantly, his knowledge of, and experience in, regional radio sales and the SRN network.”

“Gavin will be a key part of the SRN Executive Team going forward. We look forward to his contribution.”

Flanagan said “I’m really pleased to be rejoining the Super Radio Network after six years away. It’s where I’ve spent the vast majority of my career and I really loved my time working for the late Bill Caralis.”

“I believe there is so much potential across the network and I’m looking forward to joining the team and getting started.”

Flanagan will start with SRN on 3 November and will be based in Newcastle.
