Netflix’s animated feature KPop Demon Hunters continues to fuel a chart storm, as its soundtrack hit Golden claimed the top spot once again on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Billboard’s preview chart released on Monday, Golden will remain at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the week of Oct. 4. The track has now led the chart for six consecutive weeks and seven weeks overall. Among K-pop songs, only BTS’s Butter has enjoyed a longer run at No. 1, with 10 weeks.
During the latest tracking week, Golden racked up 33.8 million streams, up 5% from the previous week, and reached 33.9 million radio airplay impressions, an 11% jump. Digital sales came to 8,000 units, a 2% increase. The song has topped the Streaming Songs chart for 10 straight weeks, climbed from No. 16 to No. 9 on Radio Songs, and ranked No. 2 on Digital Song Sales.
Golden’s achievement is particularly significant for female groups. With seven consecutive weeks at No. 1, the track has tied TLC’s Waterfalls as the second-longest Hot 100 reign by a song from a female group with three or more members. The all-time record belongs to Destiny’s Child’s Independent Women Part 1, which reigned for 11 weeks.
The broader soundtrack is also making waves. Fellow KPop Demon Hunters tracks by Saja Boys — Soda Pop and Your Idol — held steady at No. 3 and No. 5 on this week’s Hot 100, joining Golden to secure three Top 5 spots. This marks the fourth consecutive week that the OST has placed three tracks simultaneously in the Hot 100’s Top 5, underscoring K-pop’s growing clout in the global soundtrack market.
