A new Suunto smartwatch update is rolling out to some users. Software version 3.21.14 is said to optimize the wearable’s heart rate algorithm for more accurate measurements. Plus, users of the Run smartwatch also get three new features, including a new running mode and a watch finder function.
Suunto is rolling out an update for its Run smartwatch. The wearable was released earlier in 2025 as a lightweight model designed for runners of all abilities. The new software version 3.21.14 is the second release in September 2025, following version 3.20.22, which added a reverse navigation function and more options for track running and ghost runner modes.
The change log for version 3.21.14 (below) states that there are three new features. The first of these is a vertical running exercise mode. The update brings two new ways to open shortcuts from the watch face page. Plus, the wearable gains a watch finder function, accessible through the Suunto smartphone app.
Software version 3.21.14 also brings several improvements for the Run smartwatch. The heart rate metric is said to be more accurate after changes were made to the associated algorithm. For those who use structured interval training, Suunto says it has improved the experience, with users reporting changes to the layout and more audible alerts. On top of this, the user experience when checking their notifications upon waking up has been enhanced, and there are general system stability improvements.
The staged rollout of software version 3.21.14 began on September 30th 2025. The company has not indicated when the update will be available for all users of the Suunto Run smartwatch (curr. $249 at Amazon). The installation should take place automatically, but it can also be manually triggered when you go to Settings > General > Software update.
