The Queen of Pop has found her latest iconic arena: Times Square. Last night, Madonna held a surprise concert in the middle of the Big Apple hotspot, in partnership with Grindr. Over the past few weeks, the Material Girl has teamed up with the gay dating app to sell an exclusive vinyl variant of her forthcoming album, Confessions II, and to offer up exclusive interviews and more.
Now, to kick off Pride Month, the musical legend teamed up with the platform to put together a mini show, where she ran through a medley of hits from her 2005 Confessions on a Dance Floor album, including “Hung Up,” “Get Together,” and “I Love New York.” Then, she incorporated a few singles from her upcoming sequel, including “Bring Your Love” (traditionally featuring Sabrina Carpenter), “I Feel So Free,” and “Love Sensation.”

As Madonna addressed the audience at the beginning of the show, she shouted: “Hi, gays!” Then, throughout her performance, images of LGBTQ+ historical figures flashed across the screen, from Marsha P. Johnson to Keith Haring and more.

For the occasion, Madge wore a custom look from Dolce and Gabbana, including a baby pink chiffon teddy and waist-cinching corset, with stockings and tulle gloves to match.

Her stylist, Rita Melssen, created a bit of a cotton candy effect by adding a bright-blue balconette bra with a metallic sheen, and some sunglasses to match. Finally, Madonna wore a pair of silver lace-up boots and a complementary space-age puffer coat.
Confessions II is out July 3.
