Quebec health officials issued a public warning Thursday advising consumers not to eat a dip sold by a Montreal food company after concerns it may have been contaminated with the hepatitis A virus.
The warning came from Quebec’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and applies to a refrigerated product prepared and sold by Les aliments Fressers Inc. called “Le Dip.”
The affected products include 250 millilitre and 500 ml containers with best-before dates of Aug. 2, 2026, or earlier, the ministry said in a statement.
The product was reportedly sold exclusively at the company’s store at 5737 Décarie Blvd in Montreal.
Consumers who purchased the dip should discard it immediately, it advised — even if it appears fresh and shows no signs of spoilage, the ministry said.
The warning was issued as a precautionary measure. No illnesses linked to the product have been reported.
