While the certification updates are attached to a number of history-making achievements, two are of special note.

First, Taylor now joins a historic list of female acts with multiple Diamond albums: Madonna, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Adele, and Shania Twain.

Uniquely, Swift and Adele are the only two to accomplish the feat this century.

For context, “Diamond” refers to certified sales equivalence of 10 million in the United States.

Second (and most importantly), Swift’s career-wide certified album sales in the U.S. is now at 105 million – making her the best-selling female artist in American history for albums.

For Mariah, the previous recordholder, cumulative sales sit at 68.5 million as of time reported.
