Fibracem, a 100% Brazilian company specializing in optical communications, takes another important step toward further consolidating its position as a benchmark in the Brazilian market. The company has just entered into a partnership with the Finnish multinational Nokia, one of the largest global providers of telecommunications infrastructure. The agreement marks an important step for both companies, which together aim to further promote the distribution of connectivity solutions throughout the country.
The partnership was announced during Futurecom 2025 – one of the largest technology and telecommunications market events in Latin America.
“This move officially makes us a distribution partner for Nokia products, providing a robust portfolio of technologies already established in the market,” reinforces Fibracem’s COO, Eryck El-Jaick.
The Brazilian company will be responsible for maintaining local inventory and facilitating access to cutting-edge solutions for Internet service providers (ISPs), which represent a vital part of the country’s telecommunications sector. Among the technologies that will be distributed by Fibracem are OT (Optical Transport) systems, IP infrastructure (such as routers and switches), and GPON network equipment, such as OLTs and ONUs.
In addition to allowing Brazilian providers to have even easier access to the technologies of the European multinational, recognized for its strong presence on the global stage, “the main objective of this partnership with Fibracem will be to further expand the capillarity of Nokia solutions,” reinforces Rafael Mezzasalma, Nokia’s Country Manager for Brazil.
“This alliance brings a powerful combination to the Brazilian market: cutting-edge technology with the expertise of a national company that understands local needs,” adds the executive.
Mutual growth and long-term vision
That same year, in addition to Nokia, the company also signed a Diamond-certified agreement to market and distribute equipment and accessories from the North American giant Vertiv, such as rectifiers, UPS, precision air conditioning and manageable PDUs, among other solutions.
For Fibracem’s COO, working alongside other renowned brands makes a fundamental strategy in the telecom segment viable: the execution of special, fully customized projects. “This has been a major differentiator, in addition to being an advantageous option for companies and, consequently, for the sector’s evolution,” concludes Eryck El-Jaick.
