White House claims Iran peace deal puts ‘America First’

The White House has framed the interim peace deal it has reached with Iran as a success for the American people.

“Forged through decisive American strength, this agreement ensures Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon, reopens the Strait of Hormuz to free navigation, and puts America First — rejecting the failed policies of appeasement, cash payoffs, and endless wars that have weakened the United States for decades”, the Trump administration wrote in a statement Friday.

The deal also offers Iran a $300 billion reconstruction fund and sanctions relief.

“If Hezbollah honors the agreement and ceases its hostilities, they will be met with quiet”, the ambassador said. “The people of Lebanon deserve a future free from Hezbollah’s grip, and a real, genuine peace between our two countries remains possible”.
