DJs Carl Cox and MK are to headline the fourth year of a popular Ayrshire music festival in 2026.

The Pavilion Festival in Ayr will see festival co-founder Ewan McVicar and Detroit house legend MK top the bill on 2 May, with global dance music star Cox headlining the following night.

McVivar, who enjoyed a massive chart hit in 2021 with Tell Me Something Good, established the festival in 2023. It makes use of the Low Green area near the beach in the town.

Past acts to play include award-winning DJ Ben Hemsley, Madchester group the Happy Mondays and indie rock band James.

McVicar, co-founder of Pavilion Festival, said: “Pavilion is about bringing something world-class to Scotland, right here on our doorstep, right here by the beach.

“2026 is shaping up to be some show with MK headlining Saturday and Carl Cox on Sunday.”

The DJ, who established the festival with veteran Ayrshire concert promoters STREETrave, added that a second wave of acts will be announced soon, and this his own set will see the Scottish debut of his new full production show.

Cox, considered to be one of the greatest DJ’s in the world, first played with STREETrave back in the early 1990s.

The festival announcement follows a summer of extensive touring by Scottish DJ and producer Ewan McVicar, who will curate a stacked Saturday line-up alongside his legendary main stage sets. Next year’s event will see the Scottish debut of Ewan’s new full production show.

McVicar told BBC Scotland News earlier this year that he feared working class kids were bring priced out of culture due to rising costs for tickets.

Early bird tickets for the festival will go on sale on Saturday.
