An iconic ’80s supermodel still looks fantastic now, decades after the height of her career, and she isn’t letting critics tear her down. Paulina Porizkova, 61, recently took to social media to respond after some people had commented negatively on her “weight gain.”
On June 17, Porizkova shared a video on Instagram that highlighted her figure and made it clear she’s still in fabulous shape. She noted that she had previously mentioned gaining weight and that she was fine with it.
Porizkova’s honesty resonated with her fans, who loved how she talked about an oftentimes sensitive topic. However, the iconic supermodel received plenty of “advice” or criticism, too.
She wrote there had been “a few peeps who helpfully wanted to let me know that if I ate and exercised the right way, I COULD get rid of the weight.”
Although tone can be difficult to read in social media posts, Porizkova didn’t need to point out that she didn’t find those types of comments particularly helpful.
“Yes, thank you. I know I can get rid of the weight…My point was and IS: to resist to age takes an awful lot of time and money. And at this point in my life, I’m more comfortable in this body than I’ve ever been.”
Now, Porizkova explained, she is more “grateful” for her body than she’s ever been, as well. She added, “And I have a ton of other things I want to do with my time and money,” adding a winking emoji at the end.

Porizkova’s message was heard loud and clear by her supporters, who felt inspired by her message.
“The confidence of truly knowing and appreciating your body rather than viewing your body,” a supporter wrote about Porizkova and the supermodel’s attitude.
“Aging is so taboo for women; what you do is immensely valuable. For a complete stranger, I appreciate you so much,” commented a fan.
“You look incredible, and not ‘for your age,’ I just mean strikingly beautiful, period,” declared someone else.
