“Where are we going? What stories do we want to tell?” Apple TV has revealed the main official trailer for a documentary series titled Mr. Scorsese, arriving for streaming in October later this month. After releasing his last film Killers of the Flower Moon on Apple TV+, they went and made an entire doc about this iconic, master filmmaker Martin Scorsese. “I knew I could express myself with pictures, but I had to find my own way…” From director Rebecca Miller, Mr. Scorsese examines how his own colorful life experiences informed his artistic vision as each film he made stunned the world with originality. Starting with his NYU student films and continuing to the present day, this documentary explores the themes that have fascinated Scorsese and informed his work, including the place of good and evil in the fundamental nature of humankind. Featuring extensive conversations with the filmmaker himself & never-before-seen interviews with others: Robert De Niro, Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Thelma Schoonmaker, Jodie Foster, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Paul Schrader, Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett, Jay Cocks, and DP Rodrigo Prieto, along with his children, wife, and many others. This trailer doesn’t show much footage yet, but I am sure it’s going to be a fascinating doc to watch – all five parts of it. Add this to your watchlist now for the fall.
