■ U.S. President Donald Trump said that “the U.S. Military is ready, willing and able… to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran” should Tehran attempt to assassinate him, and that “1,000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at” Iran.
■ Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said that avenging his slain predecessor and father was “the demand of the nation” and “must certainly” take place, according to a written message released on his Telegram account.
■ A CNN analysis of satellite imagery indicated that Iran may already be rebuilding parts of its nuclear facilities damaged during the war.
■ Iran told the United States that recent attacks on shipping were carried out by “an errant part” within its system, senior U.S. officials told Reuters. Washington is demanding that Tehran issue a public statement saying all shipping channels are open and that it will stop firing at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the officials said.
■ Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is in Oman to discuss arrangements for the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.
■ Araghchi accused the U.S. treasury secretary of violating the U.S.-Iran interim agreement after the Treasury Department said it had sanctioned Dubai-based Iranian financial facilitator Ali Ansari.
■ Iran’s Fars agency reported that no negotiations will take place until the United States retracts from its positions, citing a source.
■ The grand mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, was briefly detained by Israeli police and handed a one-week ban from Al-Aqsa Mosque after he finished delivering a sermon at the mosque.
■ Israeli settlers vandalized a Palestinian-owned agricultural structure in the al-Mas’udiya area, near Nablus, in the northern West Bank, Palestinian reports said.
