The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that trade exchange between Egypt and its 14 main trading partners—representing 68.3% of the country’s total foreign trade—stood at $66.836bn during the first nine months of fiscal year 2024/2025. This figure includes $46.357bn in imports and $20.478bn in exports.
According to the CBE’s latest report, Egypt’s overall foreign trade during the same period reached $97.834bn, comprising $68.083bn in imports and $29.750bn in exports.
The United Arab Emirates ranked as Egypt’s top trading partner, with exchange valued at $9.827bn, including $4.560bn in imports and $5.267bn in exports. The United States came second with $9.544bn, including $6.338bn in imports and $3.206bn in exports.
China placed third with trade exchange of $8.189bn, dominated by imports at $7.986bn compared to just $202.6m in exports. Saudi Arabia followed in fourth place with $7.163bn, including $5.715bn in imports and $1.447bn in exports.
Germany ranked fifth at $4.489bn, comprising $3.024bn in imports and $1.465bn in exports. Trade with Italy totalled $4.067bn ($2.068bn in imports and $1.999bn in exports), while Turkey reached $3.970bn ($2.515bn in imports and $1.455bn in exports).
The United Kingdom ranked eighth with $3.580bn in trade ($1.742bn in imports and $1.837bn in exports). Switzerland followed at $3.5bn ($1.785bn in imports and $1.715bn in exports), and Brazil recorded $3.321bn ($3.094bn in imports and $224.8m in exports).
Russia was Egypt’s 11th largest partner, with $3.122bn in trade ($2.970bn in imports and $151.7m in exports), followed by India at $2.277bn ($2.059bn in imports and $218.3m in exports), France at $2.105bn ($1.406bn in imports and $698.3m in exports), and the Netherlands at $1.675bn ($1.090bn in imports and $585.5m in exports).
Trade with other countries outside the top 14 amounted to $30.997bn, including $21.725bn in imports and $9.272bn in exports, the CBE added.
