Kaia Gerber got fired up while out in New York City on Monday, sporting a red knit by Alaïa.
The actress and model’s dress hailed from the fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection, which marked couturier Pieter Mulier’s final designs as creative director of the Paris-based luxury label.

The look merged fluidity with summer knitwear in a vibrant, fiery red. The long-sleeve top had a round neckline, formfitting silhouette and ribbed fabric at the cuffs and hips for a touch of playfulness.
The design transitioned into a satin-style skirt. The maxi hemline left just enough room for Gerber’s thong sandal heels, one of summer’s dominant footwear trends among A-list stars like Kendall Jenner and Michelle Obama.

Gerber’s red dress made its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week in March 2026. Designed by Mulier, who assumed the role of creative director at Versace on July 1, the collection merged restraint with refinement in equal measure.
Mulier “stripped back the fashion theatrics to a minimal, pure expression of the Alaïa essence, leaving a clean slate for whomever takes over next at the Paris-based house,” Miles Socha wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.

“The clothes were as ravishing as they were restrained, from the clinging, sexy tank dresses that opened the show, some with ghostly references to the founder’s crocodile tailcoats, and the form-hugging velvet suits through to gently flaring calfskin coats and the densely ruffled skirts that brought the display to a crescendo,” Socha wrote.
“While some fashion shows seem more about image and cultural relevance, this one was about the work. Viewed up close, the collection was a treat for connoisseurs of fashion, which included his BFFs [best fashion friends] Raf Simons and Matthieu Blazy.”
