Regina King kicked off the press tour for “Children of Blood and Bone” in python-print sandals, one of this year’s biggest shoe trends. The actress attended the trailer launch event for the highly anticipated film at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Monday in New York.

The actress broke up a classic black and white look with python print strappy sandals. King’s shoes featured a double toe strap and an ankle strap secured with a metal silver buckle. The shoes featured a round toe and a stiletto heel measuring around four inches.
Snake print has become an alternative for those looking for neutral shoes to wear with a range of looks. Animal print as a whole has remained popular in the footwear space, with everything from cowhide to tiger print appearing on shoes from designers including like Alaïa, Amina Muaddi and more.

The Oscar winner paired the heels with a look from the Rhea Costa fall 2026 collection. King wore a white blouse with an off-the-shoulder neckline and distinctive front lace-up self-ties that left the shirt slightly open.
The shirt also featured oversize long sleeves and silver details throughout. She paired it with a black, midi-length skirt with a ruffle down the front. The actress was styled by Wayman + Micah for the event.

King was joined by some of her castmates at the event, including Tosin Cole, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch and Zackary Momoh, along with director Gina Prince-Bythewood. The film is based on Nigerian American novelist Tomi Adeyemi’s novel of the same name.
The story takes place in the epic fantasy world of Orïsha, where a young woman goes on a quest to reclaim the magic that was violently stolen from her people. She and her brother ally with the daughter and son of the king to fight back against his brutal rule.
The film also stars Damson Idris, Amandla Stenberg, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Idris Elba and Viola Davis. “Children of Blood and Bone” is scheduled to hit theaters on Jan. 15.
