United Torah Judaism Chairman Yitzhak Goldknopf responded to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks regarding the law to freeze arrests of ultra-Orthodox draft dodgers, saying it “only confirms what was clear to us from the very first moment – the Prime Minister does not intend to regulate the status of yeshiva students and is not planning to bring a draft law.” According to Goldknopf, “The arrest law was just another spin that was not intended to solve anything, and it’s a shame it came into existence. After the elections, we will only go with whoever regulates the status of yeshiva students and kollel members.”
