MJF is bringing his bad-guy personality to Hollywood. The AEW star makes his first appearance in the official trailer for Violent Night 2. The sequel once again follows David Harbour’s violent version of Santa Claus, but MJF quickly makes an impression as one of the movie’s villains.

The trailer gives fans their first proper look at Maxwell Jacob Friedman in the film, and it looks like he is having a lot of fun causing trouble.

MJF appears in two big moments in the trailer. In one scene, he is seen putting someone inside an oven. The moment catches Santa’s attention, with Harbour’s character joking that the person looks like a gingerbread man.

Later, MJF comes face-to-face with Santa during another fight. The AEW star attacks Santa with a large steel mace. However, Kristen Bell’s character steps in and catches the weapon during the chaos.

Universal Studios has not revealed many details about MJF’s character yet. However, the trailer makes it clear that he will be one of the main problems Santa has to deal with.

MJF was first announced as part of the Violent Night 2 cast in September 2025. The role is another feather in the cap of his growing acting career. He has already appeared in movies like The Iron Claw and Happy Gilmore 2.

David Harbour is back as the unusual version of Santa Claus in Violent Night 2. The sequel builds on the story from the original 2022 movie. This time, Santa has lost his powers and is struggling to remember what Christmas is really about.

Things get even more difficult when Santa finds himself on his own naughty list. He eventually teams up with a lively mall community that needs his help against an evil gangster played by Jared Harris.

The sequel also features Kristen Bell as Mrs. Claus, while Joe Pantoliano, Daniela Melchior and Andrew Bachelor also appear alongside MJF and Harris. Tommy Wirkola returns as director, with Pat Casey and Josh Miller writing the screenplay.
