Kaia Gerber continued moving away from her earlier ’80s homages for continued minimalism in Gucci at “The Shards” official launch skate party held at Moonlight Rollerway in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

The Vuori campaign star sported a two-piece set by the Italian luxury fashion house, featuring a bra top with thin straps and a scoop neckline paired with a high-waisted maxiskirt. The pared-back look epitomized the minimalist movement, accessorized with only a few delicate rings.
Styled by Emma Jade Morrison, Gerber’s minimalist approach continued with her glam. The “Bottoms” star’s hair was styled in with a soft barrel curl cascading down her shoulders, while her makeup featured bold brows, smoky eyes and a glossy lip.

Gerber’s latest “The Shards” promotional tour look was a dark-coded variation on the Prada ensemble the actress wore to the TV series’ Berlin premiere on Monday night. The design, which also happened to be a two-piece look, included a deconstructed, open top with hook-and-eye closures and a low-rise skirt.
Together, Gerber’s latest “The Shards” press tour looks to mark a departure from the ’80s glamour and playful maximalism that defined the start of her promo run.

On July 27, Gerber made sartorial references to 1980s glam in a Valentino dress with semi-sheer fabric. The dress was constructed with allover baguette beads arranged in diamond-shaped motifs that created a shimmering effect.
While not as maximalist as some ’80s trends, the Valentino design was paired with volumized glam with voluminous, side-parted hair reminiscent of her mother Cindy Crawford’s quintessential beauty moments.

Based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, “The Shards” follows a group of teenagers coming of age in 1981 Los Angeles while a serial killer strikes across the city. The first two episodes of the series are now available to stream on Hulu.
