The New York Police Department’s representative in Israel, Detective Charlie Ben Naim, has returned to his post at the Sharon District headquarters in Kfar Saba. This is despite the public positions of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani against Israel. The detective returned to Israel after leaving his position ahead of the mayoral election last November, and the NYPD spokesperson stated that “the institutional relationship continues as usual.” According to the spokesperson’s statement, Mamdani did not order an end to cooperation with the Israel Police.
