On an especially hot day last week, grass was planted around Gadi Mozes’ new home in Nir Oz, a Gaza-border kibbutz where about a third of residents were killed or abducted on October 7. At first the grass seemed to be drying out, but a few days later, thanks to intensive watering, it had clearly taken root. At the entrance to the house hangs a large photograph of Efrat Katz, Mozes’ partner, who was murdered on October 7.
